We are Optillusion Games , the creator of fun, artistic, and beautiful games.

Our debut game Moncage has won multiple awards across the world including the iPad Game of the Year 2022. We are making new games just as exciting as Moncage.

These are full-time hybrid positions in Irvine (CA) with relocation options for out-of-state applicants.

1. Technical Designer

Responsibilities

  • Propose game concepts and make prototypes.
  • Implement levels and gameplay Proactive in problem solving.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates will need to

  • Have proficient knowledge of Unity engine.
  • Be familiar with Unity C# scripts.
  • Have solid understandings of game feels(such as Ul/UX, polished feedback fun gameplay etc).
  • Have aesthetics with close attention to details Have excellent communication skills Be a highly motivated self-starter Have minimum bachelor’s degrees.

Nice to have

  • Experience in narrative design.
  • 2+ years of work experience.

2. Unity Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Transforming design ideas into functional games.
  • Implement levels and gameplay Proactive in problem solving.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates will need to

  • Have expert knowledge of Unity and C# scripts.
  • Have solid understandings of game feels.(such as UI/UX, polished feedback, fun gameplay etc)
  • Have great programming skills.
  • Write clean and readable code and comments.
  • Be familiar with rendering and shader.
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter.
  • Have minimum bachelor’s degrees.

Nice to have

  • Experience in optimizing workflow.
  • Good aesthetics.
  • 2+ years of work experience

3. Lead Artist

Responsibilities

  • Explore and decide art styles for projects.
  • Lead creating 2D & 3D assets for games.
  • Lead, motivate, and serve as a technical and creative resource for the art team.
  • Assist in the resolution of art asset planning, issues, design, function, and performance.

Ideal candidates will need to

  • Have aesthetics, familiar with various art styles.(especially in flat design art style and illustrations)
  • Have solid understandings of art principles.
  • Be creative and willing to explore new concepts.
  • Be proficient in Autodesk Maya.
  • Be familiar with Zbrush and Substance Painter.(or other equivalent 3D software)

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Spine, or other 2D animation.
  • Experience in 3D animation.
  • 3+ years of work experience

4. Technical Artist

Responsibilities

  • Create shaders and rendering effects for games.
  • Resolve issues in game performance.
  • Collaborate with Artists and Engineers closely.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates will need to

  • Have proficient knowledge in Unity engine.
  • Have proficient knowledge in rendering pipeline.(especially URP)
  • Have proficient knowledge in creating shaders.
  • Have experiece with game optimization.
  • Be familiar with stylized art styles and capable of visualizing them in games.
  • Be familiar with Amplify Shader.(or other equivalent 3D software)
  • Have aesthetics with close attention to details.
  • Be willing to learn new techniques.
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter.
  • Have minimum bachelor’s degrees.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of VFX related content.
  • Knowledge of character workflows·
  • 3+ years of work experience
